FEC plans to curtail grass roots political organizing over the internet

The Federal Election Commission is beginning the process of extending a controversial 2002 campaign finance law to the Internet.

The coming crackdown on blogging: ``In just a few months ... bloggers and news organizations could risk the wrath of the federal government if they improperly link to a campaign's Web site. Even forwarding a political candidate's press release to a mailing list, depending on the details, could be punished by fines.``

No more PG-13 or R rated movies on Cable / Satellite?

Senator wants cable, satellite decency standards - Mar. 1, 2005 ``Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Ted Stevens said Tuesday he would push to apply broadcast decency standards to subscription television and radio services like cable and satellite.``
